Home Remedies For Canker Sores – Treating This Problem Naturally

Canker sores are the small sores which usually appear on the inside of the mouth, inside the lips, the tongue and also the cheeks. In rare case they may develop on the gums or on the roof of the mouth. Usually when the canker sores are small, they disappear within 14 days and they don’t leave any scar. But larger sores are less common and they take time to heal, even some weeks. These are not contagious similar to cold sores.

In most of the cases this may be due to hereditary but in many cases the main cause may be due to streptococcus bacteria. Sometimes allergies are also responsible for it. Mainly it occurs near the time of menstrual period. Sometimes stress may also be one of its main causes.

The main symptoms of canker sores are:

1. It appears as a round white spot having a red border.
2. In some people there is a burning sensation up to 24 hours of its appearance.

Though, it is not a life threatening disease so you can easily treat this with the help of home remedies for canker sores. There are many home remedies for this condition. You can treat your small sores problem with any of these home remedies for canker sores. They are:

1. One of the effective home remedy for canker sores is to rinse your mouth frequently with aloe juice.

2. Eating fresh papaya and also chewing fresh papaya leaves are very effective in treating this problem. If papaya is not available to you then in that case you can take papaya tablets.

3. You can also apply tea tree oil to the sores. It is very effective home remedy for canker sores.

4. You should take the diets which are rich in vitamin B. You can take the foods like whole grain and green leafy vegetables. You should eat the foods which are easily digestible. Intake of yoghurt should be increased. You should avoid the foods like coffee, citrus fruits and spices as these things may irritate your mouth. Your pain will be increased by spicy and acidic foods, so it is advisable to avoid those foods. Even you should avoid the hard foods like chips, wafers and nuts.

5. Make a solution with 1 tsp soda and 1 pinch of salt in warm water. Gargle your mouth with this solution.

6. You can also rinse your mouth with plum juice.

7. You can also put some alum on your sores.
