Dress up Games for Girls of Nine Years

Last updated on July 27, 2011 By AllTheArticles Leave a Comment

A young girl loves to explore the world around her and may use her imagination to pretend to be someone else with dress up items. Her mind may take her to the red carpet as her favorite celebrity or to the runway where she walks like a fierce fashion supermodel. Developing some dress up games for birthday parties or sleepovers is a great way to keep the nine-year-old girl in your life and her friends engaged and entertained.

Fashion Relay

Fill two suitcases with several popular girls’ clothing items such as pants, dresses, jewelry and shoes. Split the girls into two teams. Assign each team a suitcase. On the words “Go,” one girl from each team must open the suitcase and put on all the clothing items as fast as possible. She must run across the room, around a chair and then back to the suitcase to take off the items. Once she has removed all of the items, the next girl in her team must repeat the same steps. The team who gets all their players through the relay the fastest wins the game.

Foil Makeover

Supply each girl with her own roll of aluminum foil. Each girl must use the foil to create her own unique fashion outfit. The girl can use her imagination to create shirts, dresses, pocketbooks, jewelry and other clothing items for herself. Give each girl a roll of string to hold her clothing items in place. Take pictures of the girls in their foil outfits orĀ  have them walk runway-style up and down the room. Then have them vote on who made the best foil outfit.

Musical Dress Up

Fill a large bag with several kinds of dress up items. Have the girls get in a large circle. Hand a small mirror to one of the girls. Play upbeat music on a CD player. As the music plays, girls must pass the mirror around the circle. When the music stops, the girl holding the mirror must pick an article of clothing from the dress up bag to put on. Girls can continue playing until all the items in the dress up bag are used.

Dressed for Work

Purchase several work-related dress up items and costumes for girls. Mix up the items and make a large pile in the center of the room. Have the girls form a circle around the pile. Set a timer for one minute. Girls must look through the pile to create and complete a work-related costume, such as a nurse or a policewoman uniform. The girl who has the most completed work-related outfit, in under a minute, wins the game.
